Get to Know SJColours

How I Create

I create my artwork using Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva, but I’ve learned along the way that you don’t need fancy tools or expensive subscriptions to make something beautiful. Digital art is just a different medium—one that has challenged me, humbled me, and helped me grow in ways I never expected. I’m still learning every day, and I’m grateful to have you here on this journey with me. Your feedback and kind, constructive criticism mean so much and help me continue to improve both my art and my little business.

My Cozy Corners

Colouring has always been a source of calm and inspiration for me, and I know many others feel the same. It’s a beautiful way to slow down, find peace, and reconnect with yourself. You don’t need the perfect moment, space, or expensive materials to start—art can begin wherever you are, whether at your desk or on your bed. If my colouring books bring even a little joy to someone, helping them unwind, heal, or smile, then I’m fulfilling my purpose. Thank you for supporting my art and being part of this colourful journey.

Have Your Back Covered

Set Yourself Up for Success: One Simple Step

Alcohol markers are vibrant but tend to bleed through paper. To save your pages and keep your work looking flawless, always use a cardboard backing or similar protective material behind each sheet before you colour. It’s a quick and effective way to make sure your creativity shines without any mess.

Reuse, Protect, Repeat

Another person’s trash is another person’s treasure. I always reuse cereal box cutouts as back covers for my colouring pages. It’s an easy and sustainable way to protect your artwork while giving new life to something you already have.

Nobody’s Perfect!

No one is perfect, and it’s completely okay to mess up sometimes—we all do. Sometimes we forget to cover the back of our pages, and that’s part of the creative journey. What matters most is enjoying the process and having fun with your art. Every mistake is just a step toward learning and growing.

My Childhood Teddy Bear

I remember this teddy bear so fondly. I was obsessed with the Mr. Bean cartoon, and he had a brown teddy just like this one. I was over the moon when I got my own matching bear!
